History

For over 35 years, Consortium has been exceeding client expectations. Our strong commitment to continuous improvement, and our willingness to evolve as technologies and priorities change, have established Consortium as a true benchmark in the printed communications industry.

Some Notable Milestones:

July 1975 - Orignally founded under the name MGF Business Products, the company opened a traditonal business forms production facility in lower Manhattan primarily serving the Financial Services industry.

January 1982 - Recognizing the need to provide clients with the full spectrum of printed communications products & services, Consortium sold its manufacturing facility, and was among the first companies in the industry to position itself as a print management provider.

May 1985 - Consortium enters the variable data printing arena, and expands its market to include the Pharmaceutical industry. The company continued to maintain a strong presence in the Financial Services industry providing outsourced statement processing services.

January 1986 - The company adds a full line of computer supplies, and establishes itself as an authorized distributor for every major manufacturer of consumable supplies. Shortly thereafter, as one of the few authorized dealers in the NY area, Consortium begins selling computer supplies to to other distributors.

February 1989 - Consortium moves its facility from lower Manhattan to a state-of-the-art distribution facility in Kearny, NJ.

November 1995 - The company launches its statement processing division, and begins acquiring digital printing equipment. This milestone represents Consortium's re-entry into direct manufacutring.

November 2000 - Consortium relocates to a larger facility in Edison, NJ to accommodate its fast growing equipment list.

June 2002 - The company sells its computer supplies division to a large, publicly traded company to focus on its commitment to keeping up with the latest print technologies.

January 2004 - Consortium launches its trade-only division
(Prodigital Printing) offering trade pricing to resellers & print management companies.

May 2005 - The company acquires offset printer Clone Graphics adding extensive offset printing capabilities to its substantial digital print capabilities.

July 2007 - Prodigital Printing is recognized as one of the top 100 trade printers in the nation. The division has maintained that status consistently including being listed as number 58 on the 2010 list.

July 2010 - Consortium embarks on a re-branding effort, and is in the midst of a significant expansion of its direct sales force.

Bill Doehler, Principal

Also known as "Billy Digital", during his 28 year career in the printed communications industry, Bill has developed a reputation for being on the cutting edge of print & marketing technologies. Joining the company in 1996 after selling a successful business forms company, he acquired 50% ownership of Consortium in 1998. Bill is a well-known industry leader, is featured regularly in industry publications and is an invited speaker at various events both inside, and outside the industry.

Larry Solomon, Principal

One of the founders of the Company, Larry has been at the forefront of industry innovation, and has been credited with helping to make fundamental changes to the manner in which printed communications products & services are managed. Primarily engaged in general administration, and finance, he is an advisor and board member with many charitable and commercial organizations.

Mike joined the company in 2007 after having spent 12 years working at some of the most prestigious advertising agencies in the world. He started his career enagaged in project management, and quickly rose to the level of Account Executive. Mike very much enjoys working in our more entreprenurial environment, and is the point person in keeping our commitment to ensuring that each client is better off for having chosen to do business with us.

Darren began working for Consortium during his summer breaks from both high school and college, and joined the company full time in 2005. He has performed literally every job in the company, and is uniquely qualified to lead the production team.

Anne Granja, Manager - Client Services

Anne has been with the company for 13 years, and has accumulated the knowledge and skills to provide our clients with the best service in the industry. She works closely with Mike Chiaffitella to ensure that the entire CSR team understands the importance of always putting the best interests of the client as the highest priority.

With a background and formal education in Fine Art coupled with mastery of graphic technologies, Leila's contribution to ensuring that her design team performs to the best of their respective abilities. She has been with Consortium for 8 years, and is also responsible for pre-press operations.

John Stumpf, Director - Advanced Graphic Technologies

John joined the company in 2002 with a strong background in the graphic arts field. He quickly recognized the significant advancements that were developing in the industry, and immediately comitted himself to leveraging those advancements to the benefit of our clients. John is the "go-to" person for projects ranging from web-enabled versioning templates to complicated variable data pieces.
